Illustrative rule states · PRD v1.1

Know what’s left.

Separate examples, not extra purchases in your account. Each uses an invented rule to show the right behaviour.

01 · minimum + separate category caps

Two different questions.

Minimum qualifying spendS$207 to unlockS$793 / S$1,000 · due 30 Nov
Reward period1–30 NovResets 1 Dec 2026
Online categoryS$0 · cap reached
Dining categoryS$300 bonus spend left

Online has used its S$600 cap. Dining has used S$300 of a separate S$600 cap. Neither can borrow the other’s capacity. The S$207 minimum is measured across qualifying purchases, not just these bonus categories.

Bonus remains conditional on meeting the minimum. An exhausted online cap does not mean the whole card is exhausted.
Show minimum-met state
Minimum met · S$1,000 / S$1,000. Online remains exhausted; dining can still have capacity. Reaching a minimum does not reset category caps.

02 · shared limit and native units

The tighter limit wins.

Dining category remainingS$400
Overall card remainingS$300
Usable dining capacity: S$300, subject to the shared card limit. Do not show S$700 or promise S$400.
If the cap is measured in points

900 bonus points left · at 9 bonus points per S$1, approximately S$100 capacity before other limits. Keep the points amount visible; blocks can change the usable spend equivalent. Points are not miles.

03 · whole S$5 blocks per purchase

S$14.99 spent. S$10 rewarded.

Example shop2 Nov · MCC 5311 · sample evidenceS$4.99 block remainder
S$14.99 ›
Bonus-bearing amountS$102 whole S$5 blocks
Estimated reward20 points10 points per block

Captured spend and the fixture’s minimum-qualifying spend remain S$14.99. This fixture’s bonus cap consumes S$10. The S$4.99 remainder is known, not awaiting review.

Two S$2.50 purchases0 blocks · 0 points
One S$5 purchase1 block · 10 points
Other rounding methods differ

S$14.99 ÷ 5 × 10 = 29.98 → 29 whole points when rounding happens only at the end. Under monthly whole-dollar aggregation, two S$2.60 purchases reward S$5; per-purchase whole-dollar rounding rewards S$4. Each card needs its verified sequence.

One purchase, two portions.

Fixture: S$20 capacity before this purchase, no blocks. Base component = 20 miles across all S$50; extra bonus component = 72 miles on S$20. The total is 92, not 112. Bonus-covered share: 40%.

05 · quarterly spend + purchase-count gate

The amount alone isn’t enough.

Fixture: S$600 and 10 qualifying purchases in each statement period. Quarter ends 15 Dec; next starts 16 Dec.

16 Sep–15 OctS$650 · 10 purchasesBoth met
16 Oct–15 Nov · currentS$650 · 9 purchasesSpend met · 1 purchase still required by 15 Nov

Quarterly reward: conditional, not earned or credited. If the current period ends at nine purchases, extra spending next period cannot repair it.

Payment method or account condition unknown

A mobile-wallet bonus requires evidence of payment method; MCC alone is insufficient. A balance-dependent boost stays conditional until its account condition is confirmed. Show base estimate separately only when its own eligibility is known. Do not request bank passwords.
